As climate activists, ever felt that your faith has come under attack? Can you be a climate activist AND a christian? What does the bible say about climate change? How can I use my faith as a tool to help my community be better prepared?
The purpose of this workshop is to work with relevant stakeholders to identify labour market needs, future workforce trends and skills gaps that provides an important basis from which training and development plans can be developed, to target priority sectors. Recognising the importance of aligning its training programs to labour market needs, the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is currently conducting a Pacific-wide Labour Market Assessment (PLMA) to collate relevant existing and new data to formulate a national skills profile by occupation, qualification and outcome.

This mail serves as a formal invitation to you or a representative of your organisation to attend a 1-day workshop on the impacts of multiple hazards (e.g. cyclones, volcanic eruptions) on island communities in Vanuatu. This will be held in the Vanuatu Christian Council offices, Port Vila, on Thursday 22ndAugust.
This workshop is conducted by the Anglican Church of Melanesia, the Vanuatu Christian Council and the University of Southampton, UK.
Purpose: The workshop will provide SMEs with a comprehensive introduction to business resilience, including disaster risk assessment, and planning to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster – business continuity planning. After the training, SMEs should be able to do a basic risk assessment and develop basic preparation, response and recovery plans.

This technical workshop will be greatly complimented by the participation and input from all esteemed Vanuatu marine experts.
Starting in early 2016, VIA and local partners have reached over 1000 households in ten islands of Vanuatu with the first rollout of pay-as-you-go (payg) solar home lighting systems in the Pacific region. A world-first program of solar mill deployment has also been undertaken, with over 40 solar powered crop-processing machines now operating across Vanuatu, including coconut and cassava graters, corn shellers, flour grinders, kava mincers, refrigerator/freezers and new low-cost water pumps.

USP will be hosting its first-ever Climate Finance Workshop, a join initiative between the USAID's Adapt and Climate Ready Projects. Drawing on the 6-years experience of the USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific project, which specializes in assisting with the preparation of adaptation projects, the workshops will cover important aspects of the landscape of climate finance then look into the practicalities of developing an adaptation project.
The Department of Environmental Protection & Conservation and FAO will begin implementation of the national GEF5 STAR Ridge to Ridge (R2R) project this year 2017 and are inviting select stakeholders and guests to attend its 2 days national inception workshop. The project is titled: Integrated Sustainable Land and Coastal Management (ISLCM). The workshop date is from 13-14 June 2017 and will be held at Melanesian hotel. The project focus islands are Aneityum, Tanna, Efate, south Pentecost and some ad hoc assistance to Gaua Lake Letas Conservation Area.
The Vanuatu Information Services for Resilient Development in Vanuatu (Van CIS RDP) project was approved at the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Fifteenth Meeting of the Board in Apia, Samoa from 13-15 December, 2016. The approval was made with a number of conditions and requirements that have been put forward by the GCF Secretariat, the Independent Advisory Panel, and the GCF Board. The one week country consultation workshop will bring together key project stakeholders to work together to make significant and substantial progress towards meeting the conditions placed on the project.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Adaptation is aiming to conduct a workshop to engage the stakeholders in the Displacement Policy Drafting Process. The planned date is 27 March from 9.am to 4.30am, Venue of the workshop is Shefa Provincial Government Conference Room. A detailed agenda with a formal invite will follow in coming days, at this stage through VHT we would like to have VHT partners informed for their time management and planning purpose. The given below will help partners to understand the scope of the workshop.
