CEPF Vanuatu Grantee Exchange workshop Port Vila 3-5 August 2015
Fri, 19 Aug 2016
A group of Civil Society Organizations came together in Port Vila from 3rd-5th August to discuss progress made by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) in Vanuatu. CEPF is investing $9 million over 8 years in the East Melanesian islands hotspot which includes Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and the islands region of PNG.
Current recipients of the fund came together to share experiences, achievements and lessons learned since the investment began in 2013. The meeting was attended by potential grant recipients as well as other donors and government, with the meeting being opened by the Director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation, Mr Jason Raubani.
Networking and partnership building were an important part of the meeting, and participants shared ideas for future proposals in line with CEPF’s priorities as well as Vanuatu’s national priorities for biodiversity conservation. Participants helped CEPF to identify current gaps in the portfolio and shape a way forward for future grant-making in Vanuatu.
The next call for proposals will be open from 22nd August – 30th September 2016, and further information on how to apply can be obtained from cepfeastmelanesia@iuc....
