Community development is a key focus of World Vision Vanuatu, with 80% of our staff based in the communities where we work.
World Vision is currently recruiting for a Development Manager in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The Development Manager will lead a community based DRR project and will become a DRR champion providing resilience related support to the wider World Vision Vanuatu team. This position is based in Luganville, Santo with travel to Port Vila, Efate.

Development Manager: In line with WV Vanuatu’s For Children, For Change, For Life (4C4C4L) purpose, this position will:
The key functions of this role are to:
- Coordinate a Disaster Risk Reduction project based in Santo with occasional travel to Port Vila.
- Manage between 1-3 Development Facilitators during the project’s community implementation phase, ensuring delivery of quality services in the community.
- Work in partnership with communities and stakeholders, particularly Provincial Government, to ensure that World Vision is delivering relevant quality program.
The ideal candidate should have:
a) Higher education and or qualification; b) Strong knowledge and experience in Project Management; c) Knowledge and experience working in communities; e) Excellent written and verbal communication and relational skills; f) Strong planning and organizational skills; g) experience of managing staff ideally across remote location; h) ability to develop staff capacity; i) Good computer skills, including use of email and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel); j) experience in disaster risk reduction and/or community resilience is preferred.
