Pacific Women Climate Change Negotiators Workshop

The Australian Government in partnership with Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat are pleased to invite you to a
four-day climate negotiations training workshop in Suva, Fiji. The course will focus on developing skills in diplomacy, including on drafting text for  interventions, decisions and other written outcomes of the negotiating process, with the aim of strengthening the participants’ capacity to participate effectively in the negotiating process. The training will include experiential learning through mock negotiation exercises and provide a set of tools and materials that participants can utilize in upcoming UNFCCC meetings.

The course will also provide delegates with a foundation in the workings of the UNFCCC, including Marrakesh and Paris outcomes, the road to COP23, the link between other international processes and the intersection of gender and climate. Beyond the training, the workshop will be a valuable networking opportunity for women working on climate change in the Pacific.
