Dear VCAN friends and colleagues
Live & Learn has kindly agreed to host the second meeting of Vanuatu Climate Adaptation Network (VCAN) on:
When: Friday, 1st February 2013 from 9am – 12pm
Where: Live & Learn Vanuatu (Erakor House, Erakor Bridge/Korman Stadium)
All civil society organisations working on – or interested in – climate change adaptation policy and implementation are invited to participate.
The Agenda so far:
1 Network TOR
Shirley has compiled your ideas from our last meeting into a draft TOR for the network (attached). We will take this as a starting point to refine the scope, role, and activities of our network. Everything is still up for discussion – we want the network to be as useful to all of its members and ultimately beneficial to the communities we support.
2 Nominate Vanuatu Climate Adaptation Network (VCAN) representative to the NAB
Membership of the NAB includes NGO representation from the VHT and VCAN. We will need to nominate VCAN’s representative. The representative will commit to presenting agreed network inputs at NAB meetings and report back to the network after each meeting
3 VCAN Input into National Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Policy and Action Plan
The Government of Vanuatu is in the early stages of developing a national policy and action plan on climate change and DRR and is interested in ideas from our network. We’ll be discussing how the national policy could benefit the communities we work with and how we could support the policy development process. (Initial concept note attached).
