CCDRR Policy Overview
The work of the NAB and the Climate Finance Working Group is underpinned by the National Sustainable Development Plan and the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Policy. Project proponents should refer to these two documents for information regarding the Republic of Vanuatu’s climate change and disaster risk management priorities and goals.
A policy search tool (beta) has been developed to assist project proponents find supporting policy statements. Please note that this is simply intended to be a convenient tool to assist policy research. Policy statements must not be taken out of context and always consult the original policies and strategies to ensure contextual alignment.

The NAB Policy and Compliance Working Group
The NAB Climate Policy and Compliance working group (CPCWG) establishment was endorsed by NAB on the 8th of December 2021 in its 6th Meeting. The NAB CPCWG will be providing and oversee CCDRR policy affairs in Vanuatu. These are the roles and functions of the CPCWG, as a consolidated arm of the NAB for CCDRR Policy related matters,
The NAB Climate Policy and Compliance Working Group (CPCWG) equally plays an equal role in providing:
- Strategic advice to National Advisory Board,
- Coordinated, Monitoring and Compliance for CCDRR Policy in country,
- Promoting, Documenting and Building a robust CCDRR policy environment amidst the severe impacts of disaster and climate change.
With the National Advisory Board coordination role, CPCWG will also have influential contributions to regional and international policy frameworks in their alignment with Vanuatu CCDRR priority and obligations.
