Loss and Damage Funding Mechanism

THE NAB Loss and Damage Working Group (LDWG)

The purpose of the NAB Loss and Damage Working Group is to:

• Strengthen whole-of-government coordination and participation on Loss and Damage programming matters.
• Support implementation of the National Loss & Damage Policy (2025).
• Provide advisory support and recommendations to NAB on Loss and Damage proposals and initiatives.
• Improve and ensure GoV-led approaches evidence-based planning and monitoring of economic and non-economic loss and damage.

• Most of all to coordinate closely with:
  a) NAB Climate Finance WG - to align with financing work and
  strengthen access to international Loss & Damage finance);

  
  b). NAB Policy and Compliance WG – to align policy development and
  alignment with Loss and Damage Policy

  
  c) NAB Project Screening Committee – to nominate representatives
  from WG or to provide advisory support to PSC upon request when
  screening loss and damage project proposals

  
  d) Durable Solutions Task Force – to align with approaches and actions
  related to loss and damage & climate mobility (including planned
  relocation)
