The National Adaptation Plan (NAP)

Vanuatu’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) provides the country’s overarching framework for building resilience to climate change and safeguarding people, livelihoods, ecosystems and development gains. It sets out a long-term, nationally owned pathway for coordinated adaptation action across nine priority sectors, guided by climate science, local knowledge and the priorities of communities most exposed to climate risks.

The NAP links national policy and investment priorities with implementation at provincial, area council and community levels through Provincial Adaptation Plans and Community Climate Adaptation Plans. It is a living framework that will support government, communities, development partners and the private sector to plan, finance, deliver and monitor practical adaptation action across Vanuatu.
