The Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS) has funded a project in the Pacific to mentor high school students in the production of innovative and targeted media content on climate change awareness, which has national or regional relevance. The communication aims to improve understanding in the Pacific region about climate change and adaptation. Objectives of the Secondary School Training Friday 9 August 2013

 

The Secondary School Training session will be held in Vanuatu on Friday 9 August, Port Vila, over one day comprising: half-day climate change science training and half-day media training.

Key objective: To provide Secondary School students with awareness and knowledge of climate science, impacts and adaptation options, as well as media training, in order to assist them develop their climate change awareness products (ie video, radio, print) for this PACMAS funded project.

Intended outcomes:

1. Educate students about climate change science;

2. Educate students about media channels and basic production skills;

3. Assist students with their initial planning and production ideas, so that media products are developed and distributed by end of 2013.
