The Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-hazards Department (VMGD) is holding a Cloud Nasara ‘Train the Trainer’ workshop at the VMGD Office in Nambatu from 9am – 3pm on Friday, 13th September 2013.

The Cloud Nasara animation and accompanying resource tool kit have recently been launched. This workshop aims to ‘train the trainer’ and provide support for key facilitators who will be using the animation and tool kit in communities, government departments and organisations across Vanuatu.

The Cloud Nasara Pacific Climate Animation Project aims to increase awareness of the science and impacts of climate variability in the Pacific, and to provoke discussion around how communities can take ‘low regrets’ actions to prepare for future El Niño and La Niña events and adapt to climate change. The climate animation project is a collaboration between Red Cross and the Australian Government’s Pacific-Australia Climate Change Science and Adaptation Planning (PACCSAP) Program. The project was implemented by the Red Cross, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-hazard Department (VMGD) and the SPC-GIZ Climate Change Program.
