The Department of Environment Protection & Conservation (DEPC) through the National Project Management Unit (NPMU) on behalf of the Project Management Consultant and ADB is organizing a one day workshop on 13th March 2014 to be held at The Melanesian Hotel, Port Vila from 8.30am to 4.30pm. The Regional Technical Assistance - TA-7753 Strengthening Coastal and Marine Resources Management in the Coral Triangle of the Pacific (Phase 2) is due for a midterm review (MTR) after two years of its implementation. The aim of the review is to assess the progress of the project, identify design and implementation issues and challenges, lessons learned and recommend solutions and adjustments for the remaining duration of the project.
The MTR Workshop facilitators will consist of Mr. Stephen Pollard, lead evaluation specialist; and Dr. Roger Pullin, organizational/institutional capacity development specialist.
As part of the review process, the MTR facilitators will also be conducting courtesy visits to your offices on the 10th and the 14th of March, 2014. I hope to finalize the schedules by close of business tomorrow. There will also be a project site visit to the Crown of Thorns project site on Santo on the 11th & 12th March, 2014 which some of you will be invited to participate in. This project is operated and managed by the Department of Fisheries.
