Dear Vanuatu partners,

We are writing to you as you have previously expressed interest in the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund for the East Melanesian Islands. As you may be aware, CEPF’s US$9 million investment in the East Melanesian Islands hotspot was launched in 2013 and will continue until 2021. As we near the mid-term phase of CEPF’s investment in EMI (2017), CEPF and the Regional Implementation Team (RIT) will hold a national level grantee exchange in each of the EMI countries. This will provide an opportune time to take stock of current progress in each country, and the East Melanesian Islands hotspot more broadly, since its inception in September 2013.

We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Grantee Exchange Meeting in Port Vila from Wednesday 3rd – Friday 5th August.

We would be delighted if you or someone from your organization would be interested in attending. The meeting will provide you with an opportunity to hear first-hand about some of the projects that we have funded to date, network with current grantees, discuss your own project ideas for possible future CEPF funding. As part of the exchange we also plan to provide a session on proposal writing for potential future grantees.

The Vanuatu Environmental Science Society will be assisting us with organizing logistics for the meeting.  Details regarding the venue shall be circulated in due course, as will the draft agenda.

If you are interested in attending, please respond by Wednesday 20th July to seashawconservation@gmail.com; vatumaraga.molisa@iucn.org and helen.pippard@iucn.org to indicate your interest.

With kind regards,

Helen, on behalf of the Regional Implementation Team
