DFAT has engaged interim climate change advisory support to assist our program managers to better understand and enhance Australia’s climate change aid investment portfolio in the Pacific. To support this work, the advisers are seeking to meet with national stakeholders to understand current in-country climate change priorities and existing activities.
An adviser, Kate Duggan, will be travelling to Port Vila in September, to consult with Post program managers, government, delivery partners and other stakeholders to conduct a stocktake of Australian and other activities/programs related to climate change in Vanuatu and an assessment of national priorities/gaps, with a view to developing a pipeline for future Australian climate change investment - focusing initially on existing investment programs.
I am hoping that you or a relevant counterpart would be available to meet with Kate and myself from 1:30pm to 3:30pm Friday 16 September, to discuss climate change projects being undertaken by CSOs in Vanuatu.
Please RSVP to Michelle.Prendergast@dfat.gov.au.
