Since 2012 the NDMO has led the Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) working group. Together with our DRR partners we have been collaborating to standardize the efforts within the disaster risk management sector, especially at community level. This has provided a positive and efficient platform for collaboration between government, NGO’s and humanitarian organizations.
With support from the Yumi Redi Consortium, NDMO is proud to be launching a national handbook for community based disaster risk reduction, which is a set of tools and guidelines for stakeholders for the implementation of DRR projects in Vanuatu’s communities. This standard will help the NDMO coordinate the Community Disaster and Climate Change Committee network by ensuring that all of them are trained on the same basis of understanding using standardized tools adapted to Vanuatu context.
Your organisation is invited to attend the official national launch and 2 day training of the Vanuatu Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction National Handbook for Facilitators.
You are invited to nominate your staff to attend this 2 day national training.
Please RSVP your nominated training participant/s and their contact details to the NDMO- Alice Sanga; asanga@vanuatu.gov.vu by 15th November 2016.
A detailed training agenda will be sent to confirmed participants closer to the training date, however please note that 2 day event will be held at the VMGD Conference room at the Ministry of Climate Change.
