This is to announce that the Pacific Climate Change Projects Database is now online at http://123.176.76.175/project-search. You can access the database by going directly to the link provided or by going to www.pacificclimatechange.net -> eResources ->Projects database.
About
The aim of the projects database is to be a repository for climate change project information in the Pacific, promote knowledge sharing of projects like lessons learnt, best practices etc. and be a monitoring and evaluation tool for the Pacific Islands Framework for Action on Climate Change (PIFACC - http://www.sprep.org/attachments/Publications/PIFACC-ref.pdf ).
Features
The online database is menu driven and allows a user to view current projects being implemented by CROP agency or Pacific country. There is also a search function to search for specific projects. To aide with reporting the database also allows for exporting of project information in various formats (Excel, CSV, Word or PDF).
Training & updating
The following countries: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu were part of the first Pacific Climate Change Portal. Training Workshop held from the 6-8th of November in Suva, Fiji and have been trained to upload their country’s project information into the database. Also present were representatives from SPC, UNDP and GIZ. We encourage these countries and organisations to begin uploading their country information into the projects database.
The database will be continuously populated and improved over time.
