Concerning the junior Syllabuses, the development is on the process and the writers are supposed to give me their first draft by the end of this week. The first draft is mainly composed of the scope and sequence for year 7 to year 10, the table of learning outcomes which means the strands, sub strands, the learning outcomes and their respective indicators. This is the main components of a syllabus.
We will still have the consultation workshop on 9 to 11 October. During the three days, we must have some plenary sessions and group discussions within each subject in order to identify the sequence or the integration of CC and DRR from year 7 to 10.
There are all together 13 syllabuses and more than 50 writers. These are 4 subjects that I really convinced to integrate Climate Change AND DRR Components:
· Science (scientifically aspects of CC and DRR, Natural and Addition GHG, impacts on health and environment, ways of mitigation and adaptation)
· Social Science (Impact of CC and DRR on the environment and the population, ways to mitigate and adapt)
· Agriculture (impact of CC and DRR on the natural and farm ecosystem, ways to mitigate and adapt)
· Civic Education (national, regional and international conventions and laws, NACCC etc… regarding CC and DRR)
There 24 writers of these 4 subjects. Some members of the cluster meeting can also be invited to join the workshop in order to share and propose way forward in terms of CC and DRR.
