Dear all
AusAID will host an emergency preparedness forum on Tuesday 13 November, 9:00am-12:00pm, at the Police Training College.
Key Vanuatu Government agencies, development partners and non-government partners with early warning, preparedness or disaster management responsibility in Vanuatu are invited to participate.
The purpose of the meeting will be to outline AusAID’s Humanitarian action policy; clarify FRANZ activation processes; and clarify AusAID’s and other donors’ capabilities for rapid response in Vanuatu.  The forum provides an opportunity to leverage work already done by NDMO, VHT and others to enhance disaster planning and donor co-ordination in Vanuatu.

Partners are invited to give a short outline (5 minute) of your respective procedures and systems for emergency response in Vanuatu.

The draft running sheet for the forum is below.  Please let me know if you’re interested in attending (and how many).  Participants are welcome to stay for lunch after the forum.

AusAID’s Humanitarian action policy is available on AusAID’s website at http://www.ausaid.gov.au/Publications/Documents/ausaid-hap-dec-11.pdf.  Hard copies will be circulated during the forum.

Kind regards and thanks,

David Momcilovic
