This webinar will review the development in monitoring and evaluation of adaptation and discuss knowledge needs and how these can be addressed. It will present a summary and key insights from the previous webinars “Pioneers in Adaptation M&E” and “Getting up to speed” which are part of a current AdaptationCommunity.net (http://www.adaptationcommunity.net/) discussion series. The most recent GIZ guidance document “Adaptation made to measure” (as presented in Topic 3) and a new training programme on adaptation M&E will also be presented.
AdaptationCommunity.net is a Community of Practice to support adaptation to climate change. It documents practical experiences of adaptation and facilitates exchange among policy makers and practitioners. It is part of the Inventory of Methods for Adaptation to Climate Change (IMACC) project which is implemented by GIZ (http://www.giz.de/en/).

- How has adaptation monitoring and evaluation developed recently? What knowledge needs exist and how can they be addressed by a Community of Practice? (Dennis Bours)
- An open discussion with the participants on their day-to-day adaptation M&E issues.
Speakers will include:
1. Ms. Vera Scholz; she currently heads the GIZ Competence Centre for Climate Change and she is a political scientist with focus on development policies, with a rich background in climate change, natural resource management, public private partnership projects and more
2. Mr. Timo Leiter. Consultant on Climate Change Adaptation with a particular focus on monitoring and evaluating adaptation at national, project and local level. He is working at GIZ’s Competence Centre for Climate Change in the Inventory of Methods for Adaptation to Climate Change (IMACC) project
3. Mr. Dennis Bours. Team Leader, managing the SEA Change Community of Practice and online knowledge platform on the M&E of climate change interventions.
