The consequences of climate change and disasters are experienced by all sectors of society, private and public. Despite strong interest and capacity, at present the private sector in Vanuatu tends to play an ad hoc role in climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emission, disaster response and resilience building activities.
To support strategic and holistic engagement by the private sector, the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Connecting Business initiative, the UNDP Pacific Risk Resilience Program, the Local Supplier Engagement Project, and the DFAT/GIZ Climate Finance Readiness for the Pacific (CFRP) Project are supporting the launch of a Vanuatu Business Resilience Committee on Thursday 6 July.
